Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage, the Bay Area’s leading real estate services company, announced today that it has named top local Realtor Don Diltz managing broker of the company’s San Francisco-Lakeside office.  In his new role, Diltz will oversee more than 80 sales professionals and one of the most successful real estate offices in The City.

A highly regarded real estate veteran, Diltz previously was an agent and assistant manager with the company’s Menlo Park-El Camino office.  Throughout his career, he has consistently been one of the Peninsula’s most successful Realtors and among the top 1 percent of Coldwell Banker agents internationally.

A University of California, Berkeley graduate, Diltz went on to earn a master’s degree in applied economics from the University of Hawaii and an MBA from Stanford University. Before entering real estate, he was an international consultant for the United Nations and the U.S. Agency for International Development in Korea, Sri Lanka, Sierra Leone and Rome.

Additionally, Diltz worked as vice president of marketing for Escagenetics, a biotechnology company, where he was involved in an initial public offering, and as chief operating officer for Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of San Francisco.  He gained years of contract negotiation experience, including collective bargaining and intellectual property transfers in biotechnology.

Selling real estate in the Silicon Valley, Diltz developed an appreciation for the importance of leveraging technology and electronic communications in his real estate business.  He was an early adopter of Internet marketing, as well as social media outlets such as Facebook, LinkedIn and blogging, using the platforms as new channels to stay in touch with his clients.  He was also one of the few local agents to use DocuSign, an electronic and digital signature service that allows clients to complete transactions with less paperwork, a process that is now growing in popularity among real estate professionals.

Originally from Colorado, Diltz moved to the Bay Area in 1966 to attend U.C. Berkeley. He earned his real estate license and began working as a full time, second generation broker in 1996.  In 2001, he joined Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage’s Menlo Park-El Camino office, where he completed hundreds of transactions while selling real estate on the San Francisco Peninsula.

Outside of the office, Diltz is an active member of Rotary International and Studio 33 Actors’ Collective. He is the chairman of the Mid San Francisco Peninsula Chapter of Marriage Equality USA, and teaches a real estate continuing studies course at Stanford University.  He also enjoys spending time with his son, James, daughter-in-law, and four grandchildren who live nearby.
