Agents and staff come together to build dozens of homes in Northern California neighborhoods, including Morgan Hill

Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage, the leading provider of real estate services in the Bay Area, announced today the kick off of its annual Habitat for Humanity Blitz Build Week.  Nearly 200 volunteers from 11 Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage offices will participate in six different projects throughout Northern California from today until Friday, August 13.  The builds are being held as part of the company’s 12th annual Habitat for Humanity fundraiser called “Homes and Hope.”

As part of the company’s Northern California-wide Blitz Build Week, some 45 agents, staff members, managers, clients and friends of the Gilroy, Los Altos, and San Jose Main and Willow Glen offices of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage will help build homes at 16800 Cory Drive in Morgan Hill.  The Silicon Valley-specific build will be held August 11 and 12, and again for special sessions on August 25 and 26, from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.

“Our team will be volunteering dozens of hours of sweat equity this week,” said Rick Turley, president of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage.  “Everyone deserves a safe, warm place to live and that’s what Habitat for Humanity is working to accomplish.  We’re looking forward to helping them by rolling up our sleeves, picking up our hammers, and getting personally involved in fulfilling the dreams of Santa Clara County families in need.”

Habitat for Humanity addresses the critical need for affordable housing by providing homeownership opportunities for families.  Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage’s annual fundraiser kicked off August 2 and will run through August 31.  Throughout Northern California, more than 3,300 agents have been holding fundraisers and selling raffle tickets with a goal of raising $337,400 this year to fund the construction of additional Habitat for Humanity homes in 2011.  Last year, the company raised more than $117,000 in donations which went toward this year’s Habitat for Humanity projects.

Over the past 11 years, Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in Northern California has been the leading corporate sponsor of Habitat for Humanity, raising more than $2 million through the efforts of its sales associates, managers, staff and clients in Northern California.  The Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage team has also volunteered more 43,000 hours and participated in the construction of 127 Habitat for Humanity homes.
