Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage, the Bay Area’s leading real estate services company, announced today that renowned Menlo Park Realtor Hugh Cornish ranked as one of the top agents in Northern California and nationally for sales last year.

One of the Peninsula’s most prominent luxury real estate professionals, Cornish was involved in more than $93 million in real estate sales in 2011. That ranked him sixth in all of Northern California, outpacing more than 3,600 agents from Carmel to Lake Tahoe.

In addition, Cornish finished eighth nationally and worldwide, surpassing more than 87,000 sales associates in 49 countries for Coldwell Banker, the largest real estate company around the globe.

Wendy McPherson, manager of the company’s Menlo Park-El Camino Real office where Cornish works, said the Realtor is in demand from clients because of his personalized service, long track record of success and keen understanding of the local market.

“He is a very talented, seasoned real estate veteran who really understands how to successfully market the most spectacular homes and estates in the valley,” she said. “On top of that, he works extremely hard on behalf of his clients to meet and exceed their expectations. We’re very proud to have him on our team.”

Cornish was recognized for his accomplishments during a company ceremony last month at the Coldwell Banker Generation Blue Experience in New Orleans.

A consistent top producer, Cornish has been the number one agent in his office for 11 out of the past 12 years.  With career sales of over $1.4 billion, he continues to earn high honors. Cornish has achieved the distinction of International President’s Premier by placing in the top one percent of all Coldwell Banker agents worldwide.  Additionally, he was recently ranked 53rd out of the top 100 Realtors in the U.S. by The Wall Street Journal.

Cornish represents buyers and sellers in Atherton, Woodside, Portola Valley, Menlo Park and Palo Alto. He maintains a strong support team, including an experienced, full-time assistant, a professional marketing consultant, and a marketing production company. The team expands his capabilities while allowing him to commit more time to each individual client.

A native of Atherton, Cornish has an intimate perspective of the city and surrounding communities.  He presently lives in Portola Valley with his wife Laura and his three children.  Over the past several years, he has been involved in many charitable activities, including Rebuilding Together (formerly Christmas in April) and has served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Portola Valley Schools Foundation.
