Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage, Northern California’s leading real estate services company, announced today that its Dixon and Vacaville offices have started a collection drive to support Blue Star Moms, the group that sends “care packages” to our troops deployed overseas.

Bev Muncer, manager of Coldwell Banker in Dixon and Vacaville, invited the public to drop off goods at the two local offices between now and November 12, when agents and staff will begin packing the items into boxes to shop to the troops.

“These men and women give so much to our country and a lot of them are from this area,” Muncer said. “This is the least we can do to help support our troops, especially during the holiday season, and all of us are excited to be able to do our small part. We encourage the public to join us in this important collection drive.”

A wide variety of non-perishable food, clothing and personal items are needed, including athletic socks, t-shirts, knit hats, instant hot cereals and soup mixes, protein bars, ready-to-eat chili and pasta, ground coffee, snacks, travel-size personal items such as toothpaste, deodorant and disposable razors, and entertainment items such as playing cards, paperback books, and CDs and DVDs.
