One of the goals of Coldwell Banker Previews International® is to continually seek out new avenues for showcasing our premiere estate properties. For example, our two-year partnership with 1stdibs has provided us with an opportunity to tap its authority in the luxury design world, exposing our fine estate homes to a global affluent audience of collectors beyond the realm of conventional buyers. This year, we decided to expand our reach in this arena by sponsoring the 5th anniversary LEGENDS event, a three-day design extravaganza that kicks off today and draws more than 10,000 designers, media, design enthusiasts and tourists from around the world to L.A.’s La Cienega Design Quarter. We join the ranks of other event sponsors such as ELLE DECOR, House Beautiful, Veranda, 1stdibs, One Kings Lane and Dering Hall—securing an elite place among the most recognized names in the luxury home and décor space.
From chic cocktail receptions and “legendary” window displays at over 40 shops and showrooms to keynote panel discussions led by heavyweights such as ELLE DECOR editor-in-chief Michael Boodro, LEGENDS is the largest design event of its kind in Southern California. Prominent designers from New York, including Thom Filicia, David Scott and Alex Papachristidis have accepted invitations to be a part of the time capsule and will join local design powerhouses like Kelly Wearstler, Bravo’s “Million Dollar Decorators” Mary McDonald and Kathryn M. Ireland in using their creative prowess to decorate the La Cienega Design Quarter’s windows. The event’s 2013 theme is “Time Capsule: The Past Present and Future of Design,” giving us an ideal opportunity to showcase several legendary Previews® properties in California, including the $58 million Le Palais estate in Beverly Hills and the $26 million Tobin Clark Estate in Hillsborough.
