Local Realtor Juliette Kulda has been a star agent for Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage throughout her career. But next week, the 10-year real estate veteran – along with the city of Half Moon Bay – will step into the national spotlight when she stars in a new segment of HGTV’s hit series “House Hunters.”
Juliette and her clients, Polina Pavlova and John Parsons, will take part in the segment entitled, “Northern California Couple on the Hunt for a Very Unique Home,” that was filmed in Half Moon Bay last October and is scheduled to air nationally July 17 at 7 p.m. local time.
According to HGTV, the couple lives in the Half Moon Bay area where they work together at John’s family business. “Being in the financial world, these first time homebuyers understand that now is a good time to buy,” the network said. “But John and Polina don’t want a cookie-cutter home. They want something very unique, with lots of character.”
The couple has some very specific requirements in a home. They’d prefer it to be a multi-level home, with no carpet, and a large updated kitchen. John also wants lots of natural light, “which doesn’t mesh well with Polina, who prefers a dark bedroom,” the network said. “Will the couple be able to find their unique dream home in the competitive coastal housing market?”
Getting on House Hunters is extremely difficult. For every 60 applications, House Hunters picks just one homebuyer to feature on its show. Getting onto the series takes lots of preparation, documentation and even a submission of videotape by the agent. Applications must make it through several rounds of reviews and screenings before they are finally selected.
“The House Hunters crew made the whole experience a lot of fun to film,” Juliette said. “What I found most amazing is that to make a half hour show they film for approximately 40 hours!”
Juliette has lived on the Half Moon Bay coast for more than 20 years and has been selling real estate for more than 10 years. During her career, she has been a consistent top producer for Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage.
In the last few years Juliette has been in the Top 100 out of 3,600 agents in Northern California. In 2007 and 2010, she was awarded the International President’s Circle Award, and in 2011 she received the International President’s Elite Team Award – a designation earned by only an elite few Coldwell Banker sales associates teams worldwide.
So which home did Polina and John finally end up picking? Half Moon Bay residents, along with a national TV audience, will have to wait until July 17 to find out.
