ORINDA, Calif. – December 8, 2014 – In an industry that has seen real estate agents come and go with the rise and fall of the economy and the housing market, The Beaubelle Group, a real estate team at Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage’s Orinda office, are a bit of an anomaly.
Founded by Glenn Beaubelle, a Lamorinda native with 38 years experience in the local housing market, The Beaubelle Group has risen to the top of the East Bay real estate field over the years and has remained there year after year.
This year will likely mark the fifth straight year that The Beaubelle Group is honored as the company’s No. 1 real estate team, surpassing hundreds of other very capable professionals in the East Bay.
Last year, the team was responsible for $81 million in homes sales. They have already surpassed that mark so far this year and expect to hit approximately $100 million in sales volume. Beaubelle and his associates have sold well over $1 billion in local real estate and have consistently ranked in the top 1 percent internationally for Coldwell Banker.
But despite the lofty sales figures, Beaubelle and his team would rather talk about how they approach customer service in a very competitive housing market that expects nothing but the best. He takes more pride in the group’s longevity, client satisfaction and involvement in the community than winning sales awards from the nation’s top real estate company.
“We really pride ourselves on communications with our clients – clear and consistent communications that keep them informed every step along the way,” Beaubelle said. “I think everyone likes to think they’re good at keeping the clients informed, but you’d be surprised at how many agents don’t follow up on a constant basis.”
Buying or selling a home is the single biggest financial transaction most consumers will ever make in their lives, and it can be stressful.
“We really think it’s important to be there at our client’s side to ease that stress and smooth out the process, from the moment they decide to list their home or start their home search to the time escrow closes – and even after that,” he said. “It’s about building and maintaining a long-term business relationship.”
Val Cook-Watkins, the manager of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage’s Orinda office, said The Beaubelle Team’s longevity of success has made the real estate team stand out from the rest.
“There really are few if any real estate teams in the East Bay that have the kind of track record of success and tremendously positive client feedback, year after year, that Glenn and his team have,” she said. “They are exceptional at what they do, and work really hard at their craft. That’s why they’re in such demand from clients.”
Beaubelle said that when clients hire his group, they get a full team of experienced and talented REALTORS®, a group with great synergy who are all available to step in for each other at a moment’s notice and help clients at any time.
The Beaubelle Group includes Glenn’s wife, Kellie Beaubelle, a 20-year real estate veteran and designer; Finola Fellner, a former local teacher who is the group’s top producer with deep ties to the community; Nancy Stryker, a consistent top agent who has lived in Lafayette for nearly 40 years; Lynn Molloy, who has a strong background in customer service from her former retail management experience; and Cory Cook, the team’s very capable real estate transaction coordinator.
Beaubelle himself grew up in the Lamorinda area and graduated from Campolindo High School and U.C. Berkeley’s business school. He began his real estate career after graduating from Cal. After about 10 years in business, he bought the firm from his broker. He later sold the company, Beaubelle & Associates, to Prudential California Real Estate in 1996. A year later, Prudential was acquired by Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage.
Despite the many business changes over the years, some things have remained the same. Beaubelle and his team have stayed deeply involved in the local area, raising their families here and lending a hand to various community organizations.
“Everyone on our team is a native of the Lamorinda area,” he said. “We all have kids that are going through the local schools or have gone through the schools. We’re all involved in our local towns in so many ways, and really care about this area and are proud to call it home.
“Many of us have served on the local school boards, the Rotary, garden clubs, helped with sports teams, and been involved with other local organizations,” he said. “So we’ve really gotten to know this area, the various neighborhoods and the people, and that’s helped us become better REALTORS® and service providers for our clients.”
The Beaubelle Group handles real estate in all price ranges throughout Lamorinda, Walnut Creek, Pleasant Hill, the Danville area and the other side of the Caldecott Tunnel. They also specialize in high-end properties throughout Lamorinda.
In recent years, Beaubelle said demand for housing has been steadily increasing in the Lamorinda area as more people learn about the region’s many advantages.
“People really are discovering our little area, from the nationally acclaimed public schools, to the beautiful scenery, attractive homes and expansive lots, and overall quality of life,” he said. “Although prices may be fairly high here, they really are a much better value when you compare them to San Francisco and the Peninsula.”
The fourth bore of the Caldecott Tunnel, coupled with convenient access to the Orinda and Lafayette BART stations, have only added to the attractiveness of Lamorinda as a home for those working in San Francisco and other parts of the Bay.
Despite his long, illustrious career in real estate, Beaubelle said he has no immediate plans to retire. “I still really love what I do and I’m honored to work with so many great people,” he said.
“Having worked so long in this area, I’m now helping the children of people I sold homes to when I started my career, helping them find their own home now. And I’m actually working with their parents again in some cases as they become empty nesters and look to downsize. It’s very gratifying to help generation after generation. Not many people can say that, and I’m very grateful for this opportunity.”
