With final episodes beginning on April 5, we must reluctantly accept that it is the end of an era. For over seven years, Mad Men has fascinated the nation as it impeccably captures the 1960’s known for its three-martini lunch, endless cigarette smoking, and complex cultural and political changes.
The iconic sixties transcend time, with design, fashion, and cocktails that still remain popular today. Explore the things that make us mad about Mad Men.
Mid-Century Modern Living
The Wolff Residence by John Lautner, FAIA 1961.
Where nature and architecture combine to create a timeless mid-century modern home. Architect John Lautner often stated this home was his finest homage to mentor Frank Lloyd Wright. Strategically nestled in the Hollywood Hills, enjoy dramatic city and ocean views from almost every living area. Complete, with a large eucalyptus tree growing inside, this property is seamlessly integrated into its natural environment. Expressive engineering, walls of glass, and the use of stone and other natural materials capture the essence of 1960’s design. Just picture Don Draper going through an existential crisis in the poolside lounge chair, and you would swear you were on the set of Mad Man.
