We decided to play the comparison game by exploring what you can buy for a certain dollar value in various California neighborhoods in a new series we’re calling “Cali Comparables.” We’re going across the Golden State to give you an idea of how far your dollar goes in certain areas.
For our first post, we’re headed to the San Francisco Bay Area’s East Bay, where Contra Costa and Alameda counties have been setting wild new records for home sales and prices this year. We have set the asking price at $900,000 or slightly under. (And yes, we know how the realesanity goes in the Bay Area—demand is such that these homes may sell over their asking price, pushing them closer to $1 million mark in the end—but you get the idea. If you’re looking for a house in the East Bay, we’re pretty sure you’ve adjusted your budgets accordingly.). Let’s take a look:

There’s lots of benefits to having a single-level home.
