Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage, Northern California’s leading real estate services company, is known for its “Give Where You Live” commitment to supporting local community organizations in the Sacramento area. Last weekend, the company did just that in a big way.

Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage was one of the major sponsors of the inaugural Pony Express Marathon that took place on Sunday, May 1. In fact, Coldwell Banker was the only real estate company to sponsor the big event. In addition, the Coldwell Banker Community Foundation and company president Kris Vogt presented a $25,000 donation to the Sacramento Rotary Club, the event’s organizer.

The Pony Express Marathon event consisted of a full marathon, a half marathon, a four-person relay, and a 5K and a 5K Pony Run. Vogt, a marathon runner himself, took part in the full marathon course. He was joined by dozens of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage affiliated agents, managers and staff members.

“Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage has long been known as the number one real estate company in this region, but we’re just as proud of the fact that we’re also number one company when it comes to giving back to the Sacramento community,” Vogt said. “Our affiliated agents and our foundation believe strongly in ‘giving where you live,’ and they work hard to raise money for local organizations that need our help. I couldn’t be prouder of this great team, both professionally and personally.”

The $25,000 donation to the Rotary Club of Sacramento was the result of numerous fundraisers put on by local Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage offices. Among other events, the offices held a Monte Carlo night, wine tasting events, and many other activities with the funds going toward non-profit organizations.

Vogt and Marianela Giem, president of the community foundation and an affiliated agent in the Sacramento-Sierra Oaks office, presented the $25,000 check at the Pony Express Marathon to David Cohen, president of the Sacramento Rotary Club. All three will also take part in a check ceremony May 10 at the Rotary luncheon.
